he development and marketing of disposable acupuncture to protect acupuncture operators and patients from transmission, SEIRIN has consistently pursued a philosophy of "Contributing to the realization of safety and effective acupuncture treatment" and has been using SEIRIN's technology in various industrial fields in recent years.
We are constantly striving to improve our manufacturing technology because we believe that "it is safe for the patient who receives acupuncture treatment" and "it is safe and easy for acupuncture professionals to perform" are important. These three features—color-coded thickness identification, unused needle detection via ultrasonic welding, and one-handed usability—were all developed in response to customer requests for greater ease of use.
We have also developed "needle-pointed round acupuncture" so that it is more gentle to the patient and can be used in delicate parts. In addition to conventional grinding techniques, the establishment of our advanced tip polishing technology has enabled the mass production of ultra-fine wire spherical shaping and sharp-edge processing—achievements that were previously unattainable.
Precise shaping of ultra-fine metal wire tips into rounded or sharp forms as needed
SEIRIN's original needle tip processing technology has a radius tolerance of 2μm. The tip can be rounded, sharpened, or thick, and machined to the shape desired by the customer to provide a stable supply. In addition, we conduct a full inspection to ensure mass production while maintaining a stable quality with a radius tolerance of 2μm for tip machining.

Normally, the material to be processed is stainless steel wire, but various other materials such as tungsten and titanium are available. There are also cases where materials are provided by customers. Please consult with us first for materials, shapes, applications, etc.

Variation of the tip shape
Below is an example of a tip shape that we can handle.
1. Spherical (R-shaped)
- Feature：A hemispherical form of SR0.003 order
- Usage：Acupuncture needles, uses requiring durability
- Advantages：Stiffness and difficult to collapse needle tip
2. Sharpness (sharp point)
- Feature：Sharp shape with a tip of 1μm or less
- Usage：Acupuncture needles, uses requiring fine processing
- Advantages：Sharp, so it can penetrate with minimal force
3. Pencil point
- Feature：Shapes often required in the machine related system
- Usage：Precision machinery parts and inspection equipment
- Material：Carbide or tungsten, stainless steel, piano wire, etc.
- Supplement：The image is a prototype with a slightly rough surface. Rehabilitation of equipment is under study for mass production
4. Long taper
- Feature：Very elongated shape at the tip
- Usage：Semiconductor inspection probes, etc.
- Advantages：The tip is prone to bending, so packaging methods need to be discussed.
5. Flat cut
- Feature：Shapes used as cut products
- Usage：pins, electrodes, and micro parts
- Additional machining：Surface roughness can be adjusted by polishing and angle R can be added.
6. Chamfered surface (C surface)
- Feature：Machining considering assembly with target workpiece
- Usage：Joining parts, assembly applications
- Advantages：Removal of burrs, improvement of assemblability
- Supplement：Custom machining such as chamfering on one side only and needle on one side is also available
7. R surface machining
- Feature：Machining to finish the whole into a hemispherical shape
- Usage：Uses for reducing friction
8. Obtuse straight
- Feature：Shape with shortened tapered portion
- Usage：When a short needle is required

9. Coating treatment
- Corresponding coating：Polyester-Based Silicone, PTFE, Epoxy
- Partial coating：Coating possible only at specified points
- Advantages：
- Minimize gap between needle and coating
- Reduce pain during needle insertion.
- Low coefficient of friction and improved chemical resistance
10. Lancet shape
- Corresponding coating：Machine solid needles like needle
- Partial coating：Medical applications, blood testing, etc.
- Supplement：Working with subcontractors for processing
11. Spherical shape (incense fireworks)
- Corresponding coating：Processing to finish the tip into a perfect spherical shape
